About

Hi.  I’m Jeannie… I’m a stay at home to my almost 5 year old  and 8 month old daughters.  I grew up on a wheat farm in central Kansas but currently live near Austin, Texas.  My husband likes to say that I grew up in a time warp and that I’m really from a generation or two before…  Quilting, clothelines, home baked bread, home canned pickles, gardens, sewing machines, knitting and crochet…  chickens, cows, horses… all were part of my life.  Being a modern girl, I have drawn a lot from my youth and what I learned from my great grandmother and grandparents (all who lived through the dust bowl and Great Depression)  and parents and apply it to our current life.   I want my daughters to know that eggs come from chickens and that carrots grow in the dirt.  I want her to learn a bit of what I did, even though we’re not on a farm.

Part of that is a love of line dried clothes – both because it goes back to a simpler time, it saves energy costs and it’s also environmentally friendly.  Join me as I go through as many aspects of clothesline drying and laundry as I can think of… I’ll add a bit of this and that to the blog along the way.  I hope you enjoy your visit to the clothesline!

  1. Yay! Love the blog. So, over the next couple months, I vow to use my clothesline for more than a mustang-grape trellis…

  2. Jeannie…just starting to read the blog and check everything out after your message through Etsy…I love this. =) And my new clothespin bag looks just right swingin’ in the breeze at our WiP (that’s work-in-progress) farm in Old Washington. Baby Girl loves to play with it, too!
